The Adventurers Guild

This guild exists to fulfil the need of every sword for hire, hedge wizard and would be hero of Erin. Many members of this guild later go on to other guilds and find positions of power and respect within them. The Adventurers Guild is the place to go if you require men and women for tasks that cannot be completed through the usual channels. It is also a place of great camaraderie and spirit, its members coming back to the guild house with tales of their exploits from the various reaches of Errin. It is a place of equality and relaxing, no member feels threatened within its walls and no one would turn on another.

The Guild has its own code of honour which is in many respects more binding, although less spoken of, than that of the Warriors Guild. Their are some very powerful people within the Guild who, rather than getting involved with other guilds or the affairs of the Court, prefer the lifestyle of an adventurer. As a result the Guild is very rich, both in culture and financially. Its leader Lord Varn, an ageing man now, was the founder of the Guild and saw the need for such a lace some 40 years ago. He started the Guild to provide a place for people to come to hire mercenaries and reduce the amount of petty fighting that arose from people vying for different jobs.

In return the guild takes a tithe from each of its members for any treasure found on the roads, and in turn supplies certain items and potions to members that need them. The other guilds also pay a yearly tithe to it for the chance to talent spot, since they draw many of their new members from it’s ranks. Many homeless and poor people see the Guild as a chance to rise to higher places and Lord Varn uses some of the Guild's wealth to finance this. There is a lot of untapped talent out there which is just waiting to be found.

Membership

The Adventurers Guild has a 10 stell joining fee although high ranking members may choose not to charge the fee to prospective members if they think they will be useful to the Guild. There is also a 3 stell tithe per adventure and the guild takes a 25% cut of any treasure found whilst adventuring. The guild has a number of useful items to lend out to it’s members in return for this.
