TO LET: Tower, ancient, free of monsters, one careful (dead) owner
Written by odysseyadmin.
Stepping outside for a breather and a stroll, and looking for trouble after finishing off Netherspite, we were disappointed to find a notable lack of dragons outside. Having been instructed by the Violet Eye to use a small stone we had been given “just to make sure there was nothing else around”, we were most gratified to encounter another, somewhat vast, and somewhat angrier dragon than the one we’d just finished off in the Observatory.
But Odyssey never let a paltry dragon get in the way of their evening constitutional…
Which means we seem to have killed everything in Karazhan. A clean sweep for Odyssey this week, for the first time! And it won’t be the last….
Here be dragons…

Rise of the machines

We’re back again, on a shiny new site. We’ve taken out some insurance with a couple of goblin cartels, so hopefully this one will not be beset by acts of the Old Gods…
Will the real Shade please stand up

He utterly deserved it. This fellow needs some serious psychiatric care, or at least a regular kicking. Which is, hopefully, what we’ll be giving him from now on…
Onto the further depths we go, with the aid of a free teleport to his library.
Even if it is too small.
(This article was written retrospectively, and sent back in time by, oh, let’s say some form of Dragonflight. Yes. That’ll do.)
You’ve been targeted for termination

Following Thursday’s impressive display, last night found us venturing yet further into Medivh’s tower.
After climbing the Broken Stair we made our way into a long corridor…
“I’ve got some spare odds and sods if people need them,” Beaumont announced “potions, bandages and the like.”
“Phased-plasma rifle in the forty watt range?” asked Rexas “Hey, just what you see, pal.”
The air started to take on a metallic taste. Sparks danced on the metal armour and weaponry, earthing themselves in arcs of blue flame.
“The ambient static charge seems to be increasing at a phenomenal rate” commented Whitefinger.
“So is the volume of Eleniel’s hair” giggled Rexas pointing at the Paladin, who shot him a very unimpressed look.
“None of you silly buggers have been rubbing Doomhorn on the carpet have you?” asked Beaumont.
“I think it’s more likely to have something to do with him” said Aunion, pointing at the enormous sentinel heading down the corridor towards them.
“Come quietly or there will be…trouble” it announced.
“Trouble? Damn right there’s going to be trouble, do you realise how much this hairdo cost me?” fumed Eleniel.
“You think you’ve got it bad?” said Unfinished forlornly, his Tauren coat sticking out at all angles…
Shortly afterwards a certain Warrior was spotted in Shattrath sporting some shiny new gloves. Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, Odyssey has
garnered its first piece of Tier 4, completely unaided!
Celebrations lasted late into the night, with raucous singing echoing from the tavern…
“He’s big, he’s glass, we went and kicked his arse! Odyssey, Odysseeeey!”
“He’s big, he tough, not nearly hard enough! Odyssey, Odysseeeey!”
The revelry didn’t sound like it was going to stop anytime soon, let’s just hope the hangovers have dissipated in time for the next run.
Who are you calling a little girl?

After the previous week’s success the Management decided that Karazhan now justified two visits a week.Having dispatched Attumen, Moroes and the Maiden in short order we decided to carry on and take a peak at the Opera Event. This would
allow us to find out which of the three Boss fights we would be facing and allow us to plan and prepare for the following Tuesday.
Barnes the Stage Manager raised the curtain to reveal a woodland glade, wooden hut, and suspicious looking octogenarian…
“I’ve heard about this”, announced Unfinished, “A Witch cast some form of spell to turn her cottage into a delicious snack.”
“Are you sure?” asked Aeme, “It doesn’t look like it’s all that tasty…”
But any comment went unheeded as he sunk his teeth deep into the cabin wall.
“Thith ith the worthst gingerbreb I’ff eber eafen”, spluttered Unfinished, spraying those near him with wood chippings.
“Aren’t there supposed to be Seven Dwarves?”, asked Whitefinger.
“No, it’s pigs - three little pigs”, chimed Getitka.
“I think I’ve got a splinter in my tongue” moaned the Shaman, going cross-eyed as he tried to check.
“We’ve got bigger problems than that lads”, said Beaumont, “I’m no doctor but…er…the old lady isn’t looking too well”.
Beaumont wasn’t wrong. Muscles seemed to be moving in a very strange manner beneath her shawl and she was starting to look far hairier
than even an elderly lady had a right to…

So with the Wolf downed on our very first attempt this means Tuesday will see us heading towards the Curator.
Attumen the Huntsman - ready to be farmed?

After last week’s run into Karazhan I felt it safe to say that we’ve got this undead chap avec steed down to a tee. With Captain Eleniel leading a blinding pace that I barely registered we were able to take down Mr. Hunter dude in record time! All credit to every individual there; everyone played their part and played it well. I felt sorry for Aeme and have chatted to Eleniel about a better place to position our priest next time. Other than that, I was overjoyed.
We then moved on to Moroes and here I have to apologise. If I’m going to spout on about X,Y n Z at how we do this fight and that, then I should make the effort to learn about the damned trash mobs too. However, we got down to business and sailed through them; albeit with a few unnecessary hiccups that could have been avoided if I’d done my job.
We had a couple of shots at Moroes, that bloody Mortal Strike Warrior was a pain in the nether-regions but we gave it a couple of good goes and I am confident that we can bring Moroes down the next time we head into Karazhan. Thanks for all who attended and thanks to all who waited so patiently as the Officers were an hour late trying to up Eleniel’s gear ready for his first trip out Main Tanking a Raid!
Next steps always become clearer when you’ve sat down and had time to think. The following evening Eleniel and I had a chat about how to better what had already gone on. We both agreed that everyone played their heart out that night and more importantly we had such a fun time. I admitted that I needed to go back and read up on the mobs before Moroes (in doing so I got a much better idea of what bosses were where). This will be posted up with the Moroes guide I have made in the forums.
We also decided that “gearing up” would possibly help too. Now, this is not to say that we’re under-geared our outclassed by the mobs in there, but we all know that every little bit counts. Ironically, Lewton went and did the same blasted thing that I was speaking to Eleniel about and so he can claim all creativity! On the forums there is now a post that discusses gearing up and what pieces of kit your character would benefit from getting (it should almost all be mainly Heroic now) and where the kit is to be found. As a guild, we’ll then try our very best to get you your kit.
Anyway, that’s as far as we’ve got in terms of raiding KZ. Look for the next date to go raiding there!
We’re back…
